Why do birds suddenly appear, every time you are near. Why do stars fall down from the sky, every time you walk by. Just like me, they long to be close to you – The Carpenter’s song played at BlessedBe wedding.
Yen met her husband in her door-to-door book selling job. Theirs was a far from love-at-first-sight. Her husband was her manager and he had the worst of her temper (As their close friend would say). IHOP – International House of Pancake was the place they first met. Her husband interviewed her and her then-boyfriend for the job. She signed up. God cheered on.
After three years working under her then-manager, they got together. It was the typical American hook up: in a party while intoxicated with lots of alcohol. God was there and He brought them together. Her husband was the smart nerd-looking guy of the bunch. She went by faith and not by sight.
They started dating on September 22, 2006 (the initial BlessedBe launch date). Her husband wanted to make a home in the States. Yen was home sick for Vietnam and was ready to leave her American dream behind. Around this time, she started to go to church. She finally got to meet her Savior. Yen fell in love with the Man who died for her.
Many a time, we cling on to relationship, job or family status for recognition and security. These we have in Jesus. Full and complete. Love and acceptance.
“So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.’” —- Joshua 14:9
